Favorite Winter Combo: Tights & Shorts

The tights and shorts combination might seem like a fashion faux pas or something you left behind in your embarrassing middle school years. Don’t worry I went through that phase too. However nowadays, ironically enough, I can’t get enough of this trend. Your favorite Instagram babes and fashion icons are all rocking this trend. Ladies like Olivia Culpo, Chiara Ferragni and fashion icons like Jane Birkin and Audrey Hepburn were all seen in this trend, just to name a few. So yeah, there is a way to make this trend cute. And honestly I’m living. My high school starter pack was a black turtleneck, cute leather shorts and black tights. So I reinvented that trend and decided to take it out to the city.

I decided to go with a classic black tight and a black and navy combination. You should definitely try to spice up your look with a rhinestone fishnet or animal print tights. I recommend this amazing Italian legwear brand, Calzedonia.

As for the shorts, I decided to go with these floral print, high waisted ones from Urban Outfitters.

I added these amazing french girl heels (also very 90s) from Franco Satro and my favorite mini bag from Kate Spade.

As for my coat, since you know I’m already underdressed for NYC weather, I went this amazing double breasted coat from H&M.

If you wanna give this trend a try too, here are some of my favorite looks:

Whether you opt for a full on vintage look or a reinvented modern one, you should definitely give this trend a try. It’s so chic and obviously never goes out of style!
