80’s fashion seems to be everywhere nowadays. From the runways of Balenciaga to those of Marc Jacobs, designers seem to not be able to get enough of this fashion era. Suits have always been a man’s thing however once we approached the 80s, the whole notion of the blazer being associated with masculinity was completely transformed. It was “a must have” back then and is now. For both men and women. Forget about the boring old structured blazer-now it’s all about the oversized style. So borrow your grandpa’s, dad’s, brother’s or boyfriend’s old blazer and give this trend a try. I would also recommend checking out your local thrift shop.
I decided to steal my dad’s blazer and paired it with vintage jeans and a bandana from Free People that I repurposed as a top.
As for the shoes, I added these fuchsia mules from bp. And for the bag, I picked out this vintage-inspired wicker satchel from Bloomingdales.
As for the accessories, I went with some simple 90s hair clips, gold hoops from Monki, layered gold necklaces and some rings I collected over the years.
This trend is super easy to incorporate into any style and wardrobe, bringing a little edge and a vintage touch to every outfit. Other ways I would wear the blazer are: as a dress with a belt to cinch the waist, over feminine dresses and over cycling shorts.
